GIS software enables the management, analysis, and visualization of spatial data. GEO knowledge in this area includes working with maps, coordinates, and geographic features. Examples: ArcGIS, QGIS
2. Location-Based Services (LBS)
LBS leverage a user’s geographic location to deliver personalized content and services. Examples: GPS navigation, ride-hailing applications, geotargeted advertisements
3. Geospatial Data
Geospatial data refers to information tied to specific geographic coordinates, such as latitude, longitude, and elevation. This data plays a crucial role in analytics for decision-making across industries like logistics, urban planning, and environmental monitoring.
4. Network GEO Knowledge
In IT infrastructure, GEO knowledge is applied to optimize networks by understanding the physical locations of data centers, servers, and users. This is particularly valuable in Content Delivery Networks (CDNs), where geographically proximate servers help reduce latency and improve performance.
